Planned giving progran

Health, the Children of Quebec’s Most Important Inheritance

In order to give Quebecers different ways to show their support for sick children, Opération Enfant Soleil is launching a planned giving program. This program allows our donors to show the importance of children’s health through their legacy.

  • Bequests
  • Gifts of securities
  • Gifts of life insurance
  • Gifts of RRSPS or RRIFs
  • Endowment fund

You can help children like me for years, and even change their life!

14-year-old Pier-Olivier Provencher

Enfant Soleil and ambassador for the planned giving program.

What is planned giving?

Planned giving is any donation, present or future, that is made through financial, tax, or estate planning and that reflects the donor’s personal situation. Whether it is a legacy gift (of securities or real estate) or a gift of life insurance, providing the immediate benefit of a tax credit for you or your estate, a range of options are available.

There are two components to planned giving

  1. Differed gifts come from decisions made by donors during their lifetime, but are carried out later, after their death: bequests and charitable donations through life insurance are the best examples.
  2. Immediate gifts dmainly refer to cash or securities donations. Bequests can be as simple as a dozen words on a piece of paper, with your signature, expressing your intention to your family to have a donation made in your name to Opération Enfant Soleil upon your death. This gift can be a specific amount, a percentage of your estate or a piece of personal or real property.

Whatever the amount, all donations directed to the planned giving program will ensure the continuity of Opération Enfant Soleil’s mission, since only the interest generated by these donations will be used for the organization’s operation.

Take concrete steps with complete confidence

Opération Enfant Soleil, an organization that is praised for its reliability and transparency, now offers the chance to create a personalized donation fund, named as the donor chooses. It offers a way to keep a loved one’s memory alive while helping to sustain the organization.

In keeping with the Opération Enfant Soleil donation policy, donors may choose how their planned gifts can count concretely by investing in one of three areas of allocation:

  1. acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment
  2. improvement to the experience of children in hospitals
  3. and providing treatment closer to home.

Creating your endowment fund

Your endowment fund becomes a kind of personal foundation, minus the management. The capital of your personal endowment fund will be invested in perpetuity, and the interest will be distributed to Opération Enfant Soleil’s various areas of allocation according to your wishes.

The three types of endowment funds

If you wish to attach your name to our organization or honour a loved one by creating a personalized fund, Opération Enfant Soleil can help you achieve this through these three types of funds.

Areas of allocation

Depending on your choice, and in accordance with Opération Enfant Soleil’s donation policy, your planned gift can be invested into one of the following three areas. These areas were defined to meet the needs Opération Enfant Soleil has been serving since 1988.
