Québec, June 4, 2023 – Today, all of Quebec came together for Opération Enfant Soleil’s Telethon. Throughout the day, sick children and their families were offered a powerful wave of hope and comfort from across the province, culminating in a record tally of $23,207,460 raised.

Together, we will continue to be present for thousands of families and the medical teams who care for them on their healing journey.” – Jonathan Gendron, CEO of Opération Enfant Soleil. 

This great televised marathon, broadcast live on TVA, began in the morning with a special one-hour edition of the Salut Bonjour Week-end show. Throughout the day, more than 40 artists and 10 hosts assembled alongside the 17 Enfant Soleil families from every region of Quebec to raise Quebecers’ awareness and show the impact of Opération Enfant Soleil.  

“Our children need these donations so that medicine can be at the forefront of technology. Since the very first moments of her life, Justine has been able to count on your unwavering support. If our daughter had been born 20 years ago, she would never have survived. So to all of you who are there for sick children, we say ‘THANK YOU’ in all caps!” – Sébastien and Kathleen, parents of Justine, age 7.

Opération Enfant Soleil: Together, for the health of Quebec’s children 

As a force to rally Quebecers around the cause of sick children, Opération Enfant Soleil supports healing throughout the province. Over the past 36 years, more than $302 million has been raised thanks to the generosity of partners, volunteers and donors. With this contribution, over a hundred projects are undertaken every year in regional hospitals and major paediatric centres, including acquiring state-of-the-art equipment tailored to children’s needs, creating comfortable and optimal care environments, providing local care close to home and family, and supporting innovative research projects, thereby pushing the boundaries. Each year, funds are also allocated to organizations for prevention projects through the Fonds sport et santé durable.
