Belœil, July 18, 2019 — The draw for the Maison Enfant Soleil signée Bonneville was conducted this morning live on the show “Salut Bonjour,” which was broadcast on the TVA network with Alain Dumas. Mr. Pierre Guevin (ticket number 100910) is the happy winner. Mr. Guevin will be able to choose between the prize worth over $500,000, including the completely decorated and furnished house and funds for the purchase of land in the city of his/her choice, or the sum of $325,000 in cash. The draw for thirty-three (33) secondary prizes was also streamed live on the Opération Enfant Soleil Facebook page. Information about all the winners (names and ticket numbers) are available on our website: https://www.operationenfantsoleil.ca/en/comment-donner/maison-enfant-soleil-signee-bonneville/
This hopeful, inspiring project is made possible by the generosity and support of our partners, including Bonneville Homes, the official builder; IKEA, the official furniture supplier and decorator; Lowe’s Canada, the official materials supplier; and TD, the main provider of the funds for the land purchase.
An initiative on this scale could not become a reality without the support of the companies in the provincial sales network: RE/MAX, Familiprix, Couche-Tard, RONA, Réno-Dépôt and Opto-Réseau.
The involvement of all our partners and public participation will again contribute to completing many projects in major paediatric centres, hospitals and regional organizations in Quebec this year.
Over $2.1 million was collected through the sale of draw tickets this year, and more than $26 million has been raised for the well-being of sick children since the first Maison Enfant Soleil draw in 1993.
About Alexis Mercier, Enfant Soleil ambassador
Alexis was ten months old when he had a convulsion for the first time. Many seizures followed, but three years passed before the diagnosis could be accurately given: the little one was suffering from Dravet syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy. Over the last five years, he has been hospitalized many times, and the list of medications tried to provide Alexis with some relief continues to lengthen. The whole family faces the hardships one day at a time. The little boy’s resilience makes his parents extremely proud.
About Opération Enfant Soleil
Opération Enfant Soleil raises funds to support the development of high-quality paediatrics for all sick children in Quebec. Thanks to the money raised, over a hundred projects are completed every year in both major paediatric centres, which can equip themselves with cutting-edge technologies and create warm spaces, and rural areas, where children can be treated close to their families. Over 240 million dollars has been distributed throughout the province thanks to the generosity of thousands of Quebecers, volunteer support and the partners’ dedication.
