The 29th Opération Enfant Soleil Telethon

Quebec, June 6, 2016 – Once again, the Province of Quebec showed its solidarity towards sick children and their families during the 29th edition of the Opération Enfant Soleil Telethon which allowed to raise $18 620 721.

Broadcast live on the TVA Network, the event showcased a few strong moments. The main presenters, Annie Broccoli and Maxime Landry, were backed by an experienced supporting cast whose members relayed themselves during these 25 hours to give the public an incredible show, marked by vibrant testimonies of children and their families. Incidentally, numerous artists put their talent to good use towards this cause offering emotion packed performances.

The Telethon’s Nighttime and the Jeunes Espoirs Competition
From midnight to 3 AM, the public was able to party to the sound of the Boogie Wonder Band. At the crack of dawn, the Jeunes Espoirs Competition, sponsored by Jérôme Couture, showcased new talents. The Riverin Sisters, the contest’s judges, were won over by Félicia Caux, Benjamin Leclaire and Marilou Gauthier who won the honours in their respective category.

An exceptional contribution
The 2000 volunteers, artists, stage technicians and partners, as well as the 1500 volunteers in the 60 call centres scattered throughout the Province, contributed to the success of this major solidarity event that took place in Quebec, at the ExpoCité’s Pavillon de la jeunesse.

On behalf of Quebec sick children, Opération Enfant Soleil gives thanks to its generous partners, namely Walmart, Costco, RE/MAX, Familiprix, Sears, Énergie Cardio, TD Bank, Desjardins, Aluminerie Alouette, Telus, Couche-Tard, Aubainerie, Vidéotron Le SuperClub, A.B.I. and PFK. The organization also wishes to recognize the exceptional work of the more than 3500 volunteers that worked at the ExpoCité’s Pavillon de la jeunesse of Quebec as well as in the 60 call centres located throughout the Province.
